Rice Hospice Fall Support Group
Grief is a
normal response to the loss of someone you care about. Sharing your
feelings and fears in a supportive setting can help ease the process of
grief. Rice Hospice will be offering a fall Support Group in Willmar for
individuals who have experienced a loss. This group will be held in the
Rice Hospice Conference Room at Rice Memorial Hospital from 5:30 to 6:30
p.m. This support group begins Monday, September 13, 2010 and will continue
to meet on September 20, 27, October 4, 11, and 18. Registration deadline
is Friday, September 10. For more information, please call 320-231-4450.
The Link
Our
mission: “Creating a community where neighbors share the love of God
through service to each other.”
Through
prayer and thoughtful discernment, the hiring team and advisory board have
chosen a new Director for The Link. Beginning September 1, Naomi Mahler
will take over for Michelle in this position, building relationships and
working towards the goals and mission. She has been working throughout
August to learn the ropes and the transition will continue into the fall.
She brings many important skills and gifts to this work and we feel so
blessed to have her! Look for upcoming opportunities to meet her and please
continue to pray for her and The Link through this transition.
Tuesday’s
Table
Beginning in
October, there will be a community meal every Tuesday evening in the New
London-Spicer community. Watch for flyers and bulletin announcements for
the schedule and for opportunities to serve at these dinners. These meals
are a chance for people to meet others, enjoy a meal together and to build
relationships. All meals are free of charge and open to everyone!!
New London
Office . . . Busy, busy, busy!
Our New London office is bustling with activity. Our household exchange
is helping people each day with things they need. People drop off
furniture, appliances, bedding, etc., and others who are in need shop for
what will help them. Our laundry facilities are being used free of charge
each week. People come and go for fresh produce being donated, bakery
goods, and to fill food shelf orders. The volunteers are dedicated and
friendly. Please consider volunteering or donating to the operation, or
stop by and visit! We are located in the old clinic building in downtown
New London. We are open Tuesdays 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Thursdays 10:00 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m.

A special opportunity awaits you at the next
Presbytery meeting on September 18th at First Presbyterian Church of St.
Cloud. Karen Ferkinhoff, our presbytery's POINT (Presbyterians
Organized In Nurture & Teaching) person, would love to meet with you to
network, share ideas for resources, and find out how she and the
Congregational Resource & Development Committee can best serve your
education and nurture ministries.
We will meet at the same time as the
Presbytery meeting. There is no charge for your educators, but we need
to know how many to plan for lunch, so please let the Presbytery office know
how many will be attending by September 13th. This event is sponsored
by your POINT person and the Congregational Resources and Development
Committee of Minnesota Valleys Presbytery.
